At the current time, availability of Taig mills in the UK is something of a problem. As Peatol have the sole UK rights to all of the manual Taig products, they have to be the first port of call for ordering even the CNC ready mill which we can then add our own controll system to. Bringing over the Microproto controllers is just causing problems since the shipping costs of bringing extra machines over by air makes them somewhat unatractive against the Peatol retail price for the mill. For that reason we are looking to alternatives to the Peatol/Taig/Microproto packages to support UK customers.

WE WILL STILL ENDEVOUR TO SUPPORT UK TAIG CNC CUSTOMERS DESPITE THE PROBLEMS OF OBTAINING SPARE PARTS FROM PEATOL. We are currently waiting for an indication on when replacement lead screws might be available so we can carry out further machine overhauls.

The MicroMill is based on machines from Microproto Systems who manufacture the Taig based Desktop CNC Machining Systems. The basic range includes both the original open loop based 2000LE and the newer closed loop DSLD3000. In addition we provide the fully enclosed Industria version of the MicroMill with a closed loop machine since it will provide higher feed rates and potentially greater accuracy. We will retain the uncased 2000LE open loop machine for those of you on a budget, and hold stock of various options an upgrade to existing 2000LE customers to the closed loop controller. While the 3000 is also available uncased, the fully enclosed machine offers a very economically priced machining station that complies fully with the current regulation and is easy to modify and repair if required. Microproto Control System Versions. We have new added some notes on the differences between the Taig/Microproto controller and other Bipolar controllers

The basic machine provides a machining footprint of 30cm by 15cm with a working height of 15cm, however then spindle can be repositioned allowing a greater working hight in the case where additional work holding has been introduced, such as the forth axis rotary table, or custom hold down jigs. This also removes the restrictions on what spindle is uesd on the machine, and currently there are two options, with a conventional ER16 collet spindle powered by a 250W variable speed motor providing '0' to 10,000 RRM and a Kress Kress High Speed Spindles providing 10 to 30 thousand RPM. Both provide very acurate tool holding and come with a range of collet sizes.

In order to provide a fully stand alone machine we have the option of adding an ITX based small profile computer and LCD screen already configured with the relevant software. In the Industria version this will be fully integrated, so that when we deliver a machine it is just a case of plug in and switch on.
